The goal of StepStone is to help women and children who have been victims of domestic violence find security, self-sufficiency and a life free of fear and abuse. This is achieved through providing safe, affordable housing; support services; and advocacy for these women and their children.
StepStone was the first scattered-site transitional housing program for domestic violence survivors in Kansas. Established in 1995, StepStone is jointly sponsored by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ and the Congregation of St. Joseph. More than 580 women and children have participated in the program since 1996.

The program: StepStone owns and operates a number of two- and three-bedroom homes and six two-bedroom duplex units in Wichita. The professional staff consists of a program director, staff advocates, and a Sister of St. Joseph who is the resident coordinator for the program.
